Network Management Policy

Effective Date: 9/26/2024

1. Introduction

Our mission is to provide you with high-quality internet service without unnecessary restrictions. This Network Management Policy outlines our approach to managing our network and the services we offer. By using our services, you agree to comply with the terms set forth in this policy.

2. Traffic Management

2.1 No Traffic Prioritization

Hot Springs Telephone Company does not engage in traffic prioritization. All data packets on our network are treated equally, regardless of the type of content or application. There is no differentiation in how we handle different types of traffic, ensuring that all users receive a fair and unbiased internet experience.

2.2 No Throttling

We do not throttle or intentionally slow down any type of traffic. Your internet speed will not be intentionally reduced based on the type of content you are accessing or the applications you are using. You will only be limited by the throughput rate of your selected Internet plan.

2.3 No Data Caps

There are no data caps or limits imposed on the amount of data you can use. You can enjoy unlimited internet access without worrying about reaching a maximum data threshold.

3. Device Compatibility

3.1 Device Connection Policy

Hot Springs Telephone Company allows the connection of all types of devices to our network, provided that the devices comply with current technology standards and are compatible with our network infrastructure. We do not restrict the types of devices you can connect. Hot Springs Telephone Company will provide equipment to access our network with active service. Customers are allowed to bring their own router for use behind our equipment that facilitates access to the network with the caveat that we will not provide support for customer owned equipment.

3.2 Outdated Technology

Devices utilizing outdated or obsolete technologies that are incompatible with our network infrastructure may not be supported. It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that their devices are up-to-date and compatible with current network technologies.

4. Speed and Service Advertising

4.1 “Up To” Speed

Our advertised internet speeds are presented as “up to” theoretical maximum speeds. Actual speeds experienced by users may vary based on factors such as the type of technology used, the distance from our network infrastructure, network congestion, and other environmental variables.

4.2 Factors Affecting Performance

Several factors may affect the actual performance of your internet connection, including but not limited to:

  • Network Load: The number of users on the network at any given time.
  • Distance: The physical distance from the network infrastructure.
  • Device Capability: The performance characteristics of your connected devices.
  • Environmental Interference: Physical and electronic interference in the environment.

5. Policy Amendments

Hot Springs Telephone Company reserves the right to amend this Network Management Policy at any time. Any changes to the policy will be communicated to customers through appropriate channels, and updated on our website.
